Elise joins us with a background in business management and animal care. After getting her B.S. in Business Management, she started her career as a Business Supervisor for Fujitsu based in Denver, Colorado. Always having a passion for animals, Elise started volunteering at The Downtown Aquarium Denver. It was here that she discovered her calling to animal care. Elise took a position as a zookeeper at the Downtown Aquarium and continued that passion by getting her Masters in Zoology from University of Miami of Ohio. Once she finished her master's degree, which took her to Cheetah Conservation Fund in Africa, she looked for a job state side and found one at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum as a zookeeper. The Desert Museum expanded her knowledge about animal care and introduced her to veterinary care. She loved the veterinary care and made it a point to learn all she could about it.
Spending much of her life in Colorado, Elise has a great passion for the outdoors and all it has to offer. In her spare time, she likes to paddle board, hike, hit the 4x4 trails, and camp. Of course, most of this is done with her partner in crime, Emmet.
