Dr. Layni Wells
Dr. Layni Wells was born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona. At the age of nine, she began volunteering for a local animal shelter where she discovered her love for veterinary medicine and companion animal behavior. She moved to Tucson in 2017 to earn her bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science at the University of Arizona. During her undergraduate career, she fell in love with the Tucson community through her involvement in the Pride of Arizona marching band. She continued on at the University of Arizona College of Veterinary Medicine earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2024.
Throughout her clinical year she was able to have many diverse experiences in small animal general practice, urgent care, shelter medicine, soft tissue surgery, orthopedics, and oncology at several different clinics throughout northern and southern Arizona. Her clinical interests include companion animal behavior, soft tissue surgery and the human animal bond with a growing interest in orthopedics and pocket pets.
Outside of work Layni enjoys reading, writing, hand embroidery and teaching local youth about veterinary medicine through Purdue University’s League of Vetahumanz program. She is honored and excited to be joining the Catalina Pet Hospital team helping serve the Tucson community!
